‘Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol’ trailer & featurette

One of the most anticipated films of this year, Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol is directed by Brad Bird whose credit includes, The Iron Giant (1999), The Incredibles (2004), Ratatouille (2007). This fourth installment in the spy franchise is releasing in IMAX on December 16, 2011.  You will have to mark your calender if you haven’t yet, for from what we see in the new trailer, which just hit the web is all first class action, explosion and a jump from the tallest building in the world by the one and only, Tom Cruise.

I truly enjoyed the first three films, but Mission : Impossible 3 remains one of my favorites in the whole franchise. And, it seems like Brad Bird is going to change that for me this december.  Check out the new trailer below.

Official film trailer:

The film also stars Jeremy Rennger, Paula Patton, Simon Pegg, Josh Holloway, Michael Nyqvist, and Tom Wilkinson. The film will be opening nationwide in theatres on December 21st, but like I said before mark your calender December 16th, for the film is opening five days before in IMAX. The film is shot around the world in Mumbai, Dubai, Russia, Prague, Los Angeles and Vancouver.

Official film synopsis:

This is not just another mission. The IMF is shut down when it’s implicated in a global terrorist bombing plot. Ghost Protocol is initiated and Ethan Hunt and his rogue new team must go undercover to clear their organization’s name. No help, no contact, off the grid. You have never seen a mission grittier and more intense than this.

And when you play the footage below you will comprehend why this film is the most anticipated film of the year. I am not only talking about director Brad Bird shooting with IMAX cameras, I am talking about Tom Cruise performing his own stunts, running around the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. If you have ever wondered why Tom Cruise is the most famous hollywood icon today. I am pretty sure the footage below will explain that to you.
