In Space No One Can Hear You Scream

“In Space No One Can Hear you Scream” is the tagline to Mr. Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic film, Alien. His new film titled, Prometheus is going to hit the big screens on June 8, 2012. Almost going to get neck to neck with Mr. Christopher Nolan’s, The Dark Knight Rises, which is releasing on July 20, 2012. The teaser trailer of the film was tied in front of Mr. David Fincher “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo,” if you want to see the trailer on the big screen like I did, I think that’s a good idea even though it’s short. Both “Dragon Tattoo” and the trailer for this film are worth a shot at the big screen.

All I can say right now is that Mr. Ridley’s take on what he did in the past is poetic. He is returning to what he is best at, and I don’t mean his other works are not worth mentioning. His credit includes films like Gladiator, Black Hawk Down, American Gangster, Body of lifes etc. All my favorites. What makes Prometheus so special is that Mr. Scott is poetically going back to the core of the story. In case you don’t know the meaning of Prometheus, it comes from Greek Mythology. A Titan who stole fire from Olympus and gave it to mankind.

The trailer of the film is by far the best trailers I have seen for a 2012 release. Few days ago, Mr. Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises second trailer hit the web, which is also an interesting trailer. Prometheus trailer gives us a feeling of the original film. Even the intensity of the trailer is similiar to the 1979 trailer. Still not sure if this is seriously a prequel; many websites are claiming that is for sure the prequel. Whether it is or not, I am convinced enough to see the film. What do you think about the trailer?
